Forms, Equipment, and Construction Technology for Structural Precast Concrete Walls, Floors, Columns and Beams

Build Better, Build Faster and Build for Less

WAFFLE-CRETE International believes good working knowledge is essential to the success of a project. Assistance with engineering, construction and casting drawings, and on-site technical training are included with each mold and equipment purchase. WAFFLE-CRETE Forming Systems improve quality control and job-site management with precision casting systems that are easy to learn and simple to use.
SIMPLE SET-UP and POURING: WAFFLE-CRETE Panels are designed as “simple span” elements using concrete strengths most economical for the required application. Panel design calls for straightforward, mild-steel reinforcing that is easy to place and secure. WAFFLE-CRETE CTS rebar chairs center, tie and stack reinforcing steel without the need for labor intensive tie wires.

Concrete is placed directly in molds by ready-mix truck or other types of concrete placing equipment. A specially designed vibrating screed strikes off and consolidates concrete in one pass. A variety of appealing surface finishes can be readily accomplished. Blockouts for windows, doors, or other openings, and bulkheads for making partial panels are simple to install and secure.

SIMPLE CURING and STRIPPING: Tough, insulated curing covers protect the concrete surface, and trap the heat and moisture generated by the hydration process. Heat and moisture accelerate the curing and eliminate surface shrinkage cracks. No electric or steam heat is needed to cure concrete overnight, and each mold is available for casting every day. Automated cover lifters assure proper panel cool-down before de-molding begins.

Precast panels and forming elements are easily removed from the molds. Mold sides flex away from precast edges as the bolted corners are released. Precast panels or forming elements are lifted with a lifting devise or by embedded anchors. Smooth, durable plastic mold bodies leave no unsightly form marks and are easy to clean.

SIMPLE TO STACK AND SHIP: Standard 8-foot wide panels store and ship flat and are easy to load on standard flatbed trailers, eliminating the need for expensive and cumbersome vertical panel racks.

ERECTION IS FAST AND PRECISE

Modular, light-weight WAFFLE-CRETE panels weigh half as much as solid panels of the same size. Smaller cranes and less rigging are required compared to heavier panels. Hook-up and disconnect time is kept to a minimum.

WAFFLE-CRETE is the most economical modular precast building system available.

SAVES MATERIAL: WAFFLE-CRETE panel molds cast a 4”-12” thick section that utilizes half the concrete of solid slab equivalents. The system is ideal for load bearing walls, floors and roofs and capitalizes on the efficient waffle design to eliminate material that is normally wasted.

SAVES CONSTRUCTION TIME: Light-weight, precision cast panels increase control at the job site and speed the erection process. Bolted panel connections eliminate much of the temporary bracing and shoring associated with other precast systems. WAFFLE-CRETE floor panels require no topping. Waffle panel voids are easy to insulate and notched ribs provide space for installing electrical and plumbing conduit.

REDUCES FINANCING COSTS: Shortened construction time saves interim financing and allows earlier occupancy.

REDUCES INSURANCE COSTS: WAFFLE-CRETE structures save money on fire and extended coverage insurance. Rates are considerably lower for fire resistive structures.

REDUCES MAINTENANCE COSTS: Highly durable, solid structures last longer, reducing both short-term and long-term maintenance costs. In addition, buildings hold their value better and appreciate faster than less substantial buildings.

IMPROVES ENERGY EFFICIENCY: Massive, infiltration-free precast panels contribute to thermal efficiency and help reduce energy usage. WAFFLE-CRETE panels resist temperature changes and air leakage is drastically reduced.
